Ben at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference

by Ben on October 28, 2012

This week I had the opportunity to attend the annual Film & TV Music Conference hosted by Billboard and Hollywood Reporter magazines. The conference consisted of two days of seminars and discussion panels featuring top industry professionals, from film composers and artists to music supervisors, to studio execs. There was an incredible amount of information on many aspects of how music currently fits into the ever-changing business of film and television.

Highlights for me included a panel discussion with composer Danny Elfman, whom I was able to ask about what kind of workflow allowed him to finish eight major film scores in the last year. Another panel had composers Tyler Bates (“300”), Christopher Lennertz (“Revolution,” “Supernatural”), and iZler (“Revenge”). Celebrity speakers included LA Reid, Demi Lovato, and Christina Aguilera.

The conference was very informative and entertaining, and it was great to interact with other industry professionals. Looking forward to next year.
